HOUSTON — Authorities say they have found the body of a woman who had been reported missing at Sam Houston National Forest in southeast Texas.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said the body of 55-year-old Theresa Kirkpatrick was discovered Saturday morning.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and a cause of death has not yet been determined. The sheriff’s office says Kirkpatrick had suffered from diabetes.

Kirkpatrick was reported missing by her husband on Friday. The couple had gone into the forest to look for a motor bike that had broken down Thursday night.

Authorities say Kirkpatrick’s husband lost sight of her and spent several hours looking for her before reporting her missing.

The forest is located about 50 miles north of Houston.
