LEWISTOWN, Ill. — The Illinois State Museum Dickson Mounds will feature a discussion of butterflies for its “Tot Time” program next month.

Children and accompanying adults may learn about native butterflies and moths while viewing different species.

The event will be at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 3.

Lewistown resident Max Johnson will lead the discussion. He is a 4-H member with an interest in entomology.

One butterfly per family will be released on the museum’s grounds at the end of the program. Butterflies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Admission is free and light refreshments will be served. Groups of eight or more should call in advance.
