BRAINTREE, Mass. — Authorities say a 16-year-old is dead after the car she was riding in crashed in Braintree.

Braintree Police responded to the scene after a 911 call around 4 a.m. Sunday. Three people were trapped inside the damaged vehicle.

Police say the driver and a back seat passenger, both males, had serious injuries. They were being treated at area hospitals.

Amanda Nguyen was pronounced dead at the scene. She had been a passenger in the front seat.

Police say no criminal charges have been filed. No other details have been provided.

The Massachusetts State Police and Norfolk District Attorney’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
