BELMONT, N.H. — Police say a man was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head at a Belmont firing range.

A Belmont police press release says that emergency personnel responded to the Belmont Firearms and Range mid-day Saturday after receiving a report of a shooting victim on the property.

The adult man was transported to Lakes Region General Hospital.

Police have not identified the man’s name or condition pending notification of family.

Police called it a tragic and apparently isolated incident that remains under investigation.

Police told the Concord Monitor that staff at the range immediately performed first aid on the man and then called for help.
