Bicycle rider arrested after police confirm warrants

A local man wanted on three Bartholomew County warrants was arrested on drug-related charges after he was spotted riding a bicycle in Columbus.

Columbus Police Officer Travis Harbaugh saw Tyler J. Cook, 25, Columbus, riding a bike near Hege Avenue and Kentucky Avenue at 4:50 p.m. Monday and confirmed he was wanted on three county warrants, two for failure to appear and one for contempt of court, said Lt. Matt Harris Columbus Police Department spokesman.

After Cook was arrested, officers found a glass pipe and a small amount of marijuana, Harris said. Cook was also arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Harris said.
