SOMERSET, Pa. — A Pennsylvania man and woman face charges including assault following the death of her 10-month-old daughter earlier this year.
Thirty-one-year-old Michael Wingard and 28-year-old Angalina Miller are charged in Somerset County with aggravated assault, child endangerment and reckless endangerment.
Somerset borough police said Arianna Miller was taken to Somerset Hospital on April 9 and died five days later at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Police said Wingard told officers that she hit her head on the edge of the bathtub. They allege that neither he nor Miller sought medical attention even after a friend suggested doing so.
District Attorney Lisa Lazzari-Strasiser said criminal homicide charges could be added after an autopsy.
Wingard and Miller remained in custody; court documents don’t list attorneys and a listed phone number couldn’t be found Tuesday.
