State Road 58 bridge to reopen

The Indiana Department of Transportation will reopen State Road 58 at the newly-built bridge near Waymansville over a branch of White Creek sometime before Aug. 12.

The new bridge is about eight miles west of Interstate 65 in Jackson Township.

At the same time, a contractor for INDOT will begin removing and replacing a State Road 58 bridge over Buck Creek at County Road 1075N in Jackson County. This will require closing State Road 58 about four miles east of State Road 258 by Thursday. This road closure will remain in effect until Thanksgiving.

The posted detour for westbound traffic will be I-65, U.S. 50, State Road 11 and State Road 258, and the reverse for eastbound traffic.

Milestone is the state’s contractor for the $1.1 million project to rebuild three bridges on State Road 58.
