When Hotel Indigo opened in 2008, it was the first new downtown hotel for Columbus in 40 years — since the Surrey Inn opened in 1968 in what is now the county’s Government Office Building. Due to a source error, the number of years that had passed as of 2008 since a new hotel opened in downtown Columbus was incorrect in a front-page news story in Monday’s Republic.
Due to a Republic error, the location for a concert by Yacht Rock Revue at the Indiana State Fair on Aug. 10 was incorrect in Thursday’s Go! section. The concert will be at the Chevrolet Silverado Free Stage in Indianapolis at 7:30 p.m.
Blue and White Day, today at Columbus North High School, was started by the Bull Dog Athletic Booster Club more than 10 years ago. This year’s event includes a Blue and White Tailgate Dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. at the North football field. Blue and White Day was an idea originated by booster member Sarah Notestine when Hedy George was North athletic director. Due to a Republic error, information on the event’s origin was incorrect on the front page of Thursday’s Republic Sports section.
