NEW YORK — Police say a driver was killed when he swerved to avoid another car on New York City’s Henry Hudson Parkway and hit a tree.

The crash happened just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday on the parkway at West 95th Street.

Police say 68-year-old Jose Ramon Cruz was driving a Lincoln Navigator when another car changed lanes. They say the Navigator swerved and struck a tree.
