PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police say a 7-month-old was found unhurt by a good Samaritan near the spot where the infant’s mother was shot to death.

Officers found the woman near her car in the city’s Perry South neighborhood late Sunday after she was shot multiple times. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police say the child did not appear to be hurt but was taken to a hospital to be checked out.

Police have not released the woman’s name or any information on possible suspects.
