9 local 4-H’ers advance to Indiana State Fair
Nine Bartholomew County 4-H’ers advanced to the Indiana State Fair tractor contest after competing at the Decatur County Fairgrounds on July 29 and qualifying at the Area 1 tractor competition.
There were 45 contestants attempting to qualify for the state fair, competing on knowledge of safety and maintenance practices, parts identification and driving skills. Contestants maneuver through a defined course as part of the competition.
The following local 4-Hers will compete at the state fair at 1 p.m. Friday at the Indiana State Fair Coliseum:
Junior Lawn and Garden — Jenna Boewe and Weston Romine
Senior Lawn and Garden — Brendan Boewe
Junior Zero Turn Mower — Corbin Arnholt and Heidi Murphy
Senior Zero Turn Mower — Wyatt Romine and Daniel Murphy
Junior Ag Tractor — Jaden Decker and Kendrick Crowder
Club Scout Pack hosts information session
Cub Scout Pack 559 will have an Information and Join Night at 6 p.m. Thursday at Parkside Elementary School.
Information about the organization will be available for those considering the Cub Scout program for ages kindergarten through fifth grade.
