1) I make no secret about my love of cats; my love of yoga is a little more tenuous. Perhaps I can strengthen my mind-body connection at the “Cats and Mats” yoga program, 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Zen Fitness Studio, 639 Washington St., Columbus. Part yoga class (plus cats), part adoption event, “Cats and Mats” is presented in partnership with Columbus Animal Services. The class is free (with a suggested donation of $10), but registration is necessary and 100 percent of donations made during the event will go to Columbus Animal Care Services. 2) I am by no means a gear-head, but I do like looking at pretty cars. I’ll head down to the seventh annual Hoosier Summer Slam Car Show, hosted by Hoosier Mustang Club, Saturday at Master Power Transmission, 3300 10th St., Columbus. If you’re bringing a car to show, registration is open from 8 a.m. to noon. Judging takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with an awards presentation at 2 p.m. Vendors, competition awards hourly, 50/50 cash award given. Canned food items will be collected to benefit Love Chapel. Each car will enter the contributor to win a television.
