PLAIN DEALING, La. — Authorities say three oil field 18-wheelers crashed into each other on a highway in Louisiana.

The Shreveport Times reports the wrecked occurred on Louisiana Highway 2 on Wednesday around 9 a.m. All three 18-wheeler drivers were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Bill Davis says the three unloaded Stallion 18-wheelers were traveling behind one another. Davis says it appears that the crashed possibly occurred when the first 18-wheeler was attempting to stop for another vehicle that was turning off the highway.

Authorities say hazardous materials at the crash site do not appear to be a concern. Lanes on the highway were closed for about an hour.
