LANDRUM, S.C. — A South Carolina man who police say sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl faces several charges.

The Spartanburg Herald-Journal reports that Landrum police arrested 55-year-old John Steve Pierce on Monday for offenses they say occurred between June 26 and July 14 at Pierce’s home.

Arrest warrants state that Pierce gave the girl marijuana, showed her pornographic images and inappropriately touched her. A statement from the police department says he’s charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and two counts of disseminating obscene material to a person under 18.

It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
