Debra Kay Cook

EDINBURGH

Debra Kay (Anderson) Cook, 58, of Edinburgh, IN, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born July 30, 1959, in Franklin to Clyde E. and Lena F. (Stearns) Anderson. She married Michael D. Cook on February 23, 1980 in Edinburgh; he survives. She was a 1977 graduate of Franklin Community High School. She had worked in the dietary services of Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin for forty-three years. She enjoyed crafting and knitting. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Michael D. Cook of Edinburgh; daughter, Sylvia L. Higginbotham (Jamie) of Edinburgh; son, Tyler R. Cook (Jennifer) of Whiteland; sister, Kimberly L. Knudsen (Robert) of Franklin; two grandchildren, Alexis Merchant and Brayden Cook; two nieces; and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The Reverend Ronnie Bernard will conduct a service Saturday 10:30 a.m. at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
