FLAT ROCK
Ruby Garrett, 86, of Flat Rock, Indiana, passed was on August 18, 2017, at Franklin Meadows where she had been a resident since 2012. She was born May 22, 1931, in Pulaski County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Delbert and Lora Mounce. She married Oliver Garrett on May 9, 1960, and he preceded her in death on January 26, 1983.
She is survived by her children, Joe (Treva) Whitis, Dale (Teresa) Whitis, Vickie (Scott) Gahimer, and Trudy (Ernie) Jones; five grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Margie Murphy and a brother, Vernon Mounce.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Ruby retired from Beatrice Foods of Columbus.
She attended Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, by Reverend Randy Denton at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be Monday, August 21 from 4 until 8 p.m. Burial will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
