Marcia Shewmake, 80, of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Indiana.
She was born September 8, 1936, in Edinburgh. She was the daughter of Samuel W. and Lela (Burton) Burton. She married Willard J. Shewmake August 1, 1953. He preceded her in death April 14, 1976.
She is survived by sons, Terry (Jean) Shewmake of Franklin and David Shewmake of Edinburgh; daughters, Sandy (Tom) Vandivier of Franklin and Tina Atkinson of Edinburgh; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Jane Burton of Edinburgh.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Jerry, Edward, Calvin, James W, and Sam Burton; sisters, Violetta Pruitt, Jean Weber, and Patsy Weaver.
She was a member of Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and listening to gospel music.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday by Reverend Lewis Burton on August 24, 2017, at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church. Calling will be on Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the church and from 11 until time of service Thursday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
