One Saturday per month in the summer and fall, Brown County masters make artists out of amateurs.

PARTake classes, presented by the Brown County Art Alliance, allow people with limited or no art experience to paint a canvas, assemble a collage or bead a bracelet.

On Saturday, Aug. 26 from 2 to 4 p.m., Dixie Ferrer will teach mixed media collage using a variety of materials, textures and surfaces. Each student will create a work inspired by the area’s beautiful landscape and art culture.

Cost: $40 for all needed materials and individual instruction. Light refreshments are included.

Location: Howard F. Hughes Community Room, lower level of the Brown County Community Foundation, 209 N. Van Buren St., Nashville

Remaining in series: Oil panting Sept. 23, autumn landscapes Oct. 28, “Loose and Lively Watercolors” Nov. 11.
