Street artist’s images promote conference

Street chalk artist and illustrator David Zinn of Ann Arbor, Michigan, displayed his talent Aug. 17 at the Bartholomew County Public Library.

He was in Columbus from Aug. 16 through Saturday to help promote the third annual Seek Conference, which is Thursday at Mill Race Center, followed by a free senior expo Friday.

The conference is intended to educate residents about healthy aging while remaining active in the community. Zinn created whimsical, three-dimensional-looking figures throughout the city as a fun way to help the community become aware of the conference.

His appearance also was linked to a focus on a city’s walkability, since public art is considered an enhancement or attractions for pedestrians.
