CAMDEN, N.J. — A man shot and wounded by a police officer when they struggled during a traffic stop last year has pleaded guilty to eluding.

Camden County prosecutors say Edmond Brown Jr. also pleaded guilty Wednesday to a weapons charge. He faces a seven-year state prison term when he’s sentenced Sept. 22.

The charges stem from an Oct. 29 traffic stop in Haddon Township that was captured by the officer’s dashboard camera.

The video showed Brown drive off with the officer clinging to the driver’s side window. The vehicle slammed into a parked car and the officer tried to get Brown to the ground when the fight began.

Authorities have said the officer believed Brown was trying to get his gun and the officer fired one shot, which struck Brown’s right thigh. They continued to grapple until the officer handcuffed Brown.
