BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Authorities say an Alabama teenager was found fatally shot outside of a pickup truck.

Al.com reports Birmingham police and firefighters found the body of 19-year-old James Jean Hendricks in the front yard of the abandoned house Thursday. The teen was shot several times and pronounced dead around 1 a.m.

Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates with the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office says there was conflicting information at the scene regarding Hendricks’ identity and that the victim was identified through fingerprints.

Authorities say it’s unclear why the victim was at the location. Police have not announced any arrests in the case.
