NEW YORK — Fire officials in New York City say three people have been injured in an elevator fire.

WABC-TV reports (http://7ny.tv/2gakS9F ) the fire occurred in a building in Manhattan’s Upper East Side Thursday afternoon. Authorities say workers were using flammable solvents on the interior of an elevator when they ignited.

Officials say two men and a woman were injured in the flash fire. Authorities say two people are in serious condition.

The fire is under investigation.
