EUGENE, Ore. — The long-shuttered Hynix semiconductor plant in west Eugene is back on the auction block.

Broadcom paid $21 million for the shuttered complex in an online auction in 2015. The firm said it would revive the plant and manufacture silicon chips for cellphones.

But the company quickly scrapped that idea and listed the property for sale late last year.

The Register-Guard reports (https://is.gd/3ErD91 ) the 1.2 million-square-foot complex is now being offered to the highest bidder in an online auction Sept. 25-27. The minimum bid is $10 million.

South Korea-based Hynix built the plant in 1995. It was one of Lane County’s largest private employers before the plant closed in 2008.
