KILLEEN, Texas — Police say a 34-year-old man has died after being shot while inside a Central Texas house that was hit by gunfire from outside.

Killeen police say no one has been arrested in the deadly drive-by shooting before dawn Friday.

A police statement says officers responded to a 911 call about a shooting victim inside a residence. Police arrived to find Glenroy Joseph Smith Jr. was critically hurt. Smith was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

Killeen police say the preliminary investigation indicates someone in an unknown vehicle drove by the home and fired several shots into the house.

Several other people inside were not hurt. Killeen police say relatives of the victim summoned help.

Further details weren’t immediately available.
