CHANDLER, Ariz. — A 23-year-old Glendale man has been arrested in a Chandler shooting in which two people were killed and a third wounded.

Chandler police say Taron Lavelle Watkins was arrested Sunday in the parking lot of a Scottsdale hotel on suspicion of second-degree murder, attempted murder and being a prohibited possessor of a firearm.

A man and a woman were fatally shot and another man was critically wounded in the shooting Saturday evening in an apartment complex parking lot in Chandler. Their identities weren’t released.

Documents released Monday didn’t state a possible motive, but police say the surviving victim said the shooter was in a car with the victims when the shooter opened fires.

It wasn’t immediately known whether Watkins has an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
