LOS ANGELES — Authorities are searching for a man suspected of fatally stabbing his wife multiple times in front of their 12-year-old son at their Los Angeles home.

Neighbors reported hearing a commotion and then seeing the boy run from the house screaming for help around dawn Sunday.

Responding officers found 31-year-old Viridiana Teran suffering from at least six stab wounds to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police Capt. Lillian Carranza says the suspect is 38-year-old Aurelio Teran, the victim’s husband of over 12 years. Officials say no weapon was found so he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The boy, who was not hurt, is in the custody of Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
