ATLANTA — A teen has been found dead in what police say was a reported accidental shooting at a residence in Atlanta’s suburbs.

Local news outlets report Marietta police say the boy was found Sunday morning. Police spokesman Officer Chuck McPhilamy says investigators took the handgun used as evidence.

Police said in a Facebook post that the 911 caller said a teen was accidentally shot. Officers were dispatched to the home shortly before 6 a.m. and found a deceased male inside.

It’s unclear if any adults were there or how many other minors were inside.

The investigation is ongoing.
