LINCOLNTON, N.C. — A man has been charged with shooting and killing his roommate after an argument in North Carolina.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department told local media outlets that officers were called to a home around 11 p.m. Friday.

Deputies found 27year-old Gary Lee Somerset dead in a car. Deputies say Somerset had been shot at close range with a sawed-off shotgun.

The victim’s roommate, 25-yea-rold Ronald Wayne Vaughn has been charged with first-degree murder. Deputies said three people in the home saw the shooting.

Deputies found the gun at the scene.

Vaughn was scheduled to appear in court Monday. It was not known if he has an attorney yet.
