CARLTON, N.Y. — Police in upstate New York say a motorcyclist has died after striking a deer.

According to police, the crash happened around 6:30 a.m. Sunday in Carlton. Police say William Carpenter III, of Lyndonville, was ejected from his motorcycle when he struck a deer.

Carpenter was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
