POWELL, Wyo. — Authorities in northern Wyoming say they have arrested a man after finding his wife dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

Park County sheriff’s officials say a man called 911 early Saturday and said, “Wife is dead, send the cops.” The Powell Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/2wMFEDj) the caller then hung up.

Sheriff’s officials say they arrived to find 64-year-old David E. Williamson sitting on his front porch in Powell and 65-year-old Shirley Williamson dead in a bedroom.

Sheriff’s spokesman Lance Mathess says Shirley Williamson had an apparent gunshot wound to her head and investigators found a handgun on a bed.

No charges had been filed as of Monday and it wasn’t clear if Williamson had an attorney.
