ATLANTA — Police say a man was shot in the stomach and leg after being chased into an Atlanta restaurant by a robber.

Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos tells local media that just before 9 p.m. Monday, a couple was in the parking lot of JCT Kitchen Bar and Grill when a man attempted to rob them at gunpoint. He says the robber shot the man, who then ran into the restaurant.

Campos says the robber chased the victim and continued to fire shots at him. The robber then fled the scene.

Campos says the victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital alert, conscious and breathing. The woman the victim was with wasn’t injured.

Further details haven’t been released.
