ATLANTA — A boy has survived being hit by a train in Atlanta.

Atlanta police spokeswoman Lisa Bender tells local news outlets that the 8-year-old was hit by a train Sunday afternoon in northwest Atlanta. He suffered a broken leg and a cut on the head.

Bender says the child was “alert, conscious (and) breathing” when he was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.
