WESTBROOK, Maine — Law enforcement officials say a Westbrook woman found shot to death in her house was a victim of suicide.

State police say 50-year-old Norma Bridges shot herself Monday night while at home.

Westbrook Police Chief Janine Roberts originally described the death as suspicious, and a state police evidence team and detectives were dispatched to assist in the investigation.

The state medical examiner’s office made the determination on cause of death after conducting an autopsy on Tuesday.
