Pullover leads to drug-related arrest

Suspicious driving behavior led to the arrest of a Columbus woman on preliminary drug-related charges.

At about 12:15 a.m. Sunday, a Columbus Police Department officer observed a green Honda driving suspiciously near Ohio Avenue and Cleveland Street, police said.

A license plate check was conducted and it was learned that the registered owner, Sandra K. Carr, 58, of 522 S. Cherry St., had a suspended driver’s license, said officer Alyson Rech, Columbus Police Department spokesperson.

A traffic stop was initiated near McKinley and Gladstone avenues, and Carr was arrested, Rech said. Officers located several pills in Carr’s pockets that were not prescribed to her, she said.

Carr was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail and booked on charges of:

  • Possession of a legend drug, a Level 6 felony
  • Possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor
  • Driving while suspended with a prior conviction, a Class A misdemeanor

She was released on $7,500 bond, jail officials said.
