NORFOLK, Va. — Police say a 9-year-old boy has died after being struck by a car while riding his bike in Virginia.

Police say Bryan Perdomo-Henriques was riding a bicycle on a sidewalk in Norfolk Monday evening when he lost control and veered onto the roadway.

A car then struck the child. The boy was taken to the hospital, where police say he died.

Police say the driver of the car remained at the scene. Police say when their investigation is completed, their findings will be turned over to the Norfolk commonwealth’s attorney’s office.
