SALISBURY, N.C. — Authorities in North Carolina have arrested three men in connection with the robbery and kidnapping of an undercover officer.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office told local media outlets that said a drug buy had been arranged in a parking lot at a fast-food restaurant on Tuesday. When the officer got into the suspect’s car, he was robbed at gunpoint. As the suspects began to drive away, surveillance officers converged and arrested the men.

The officer wasn’t hurt.

Deputies arrested 36-year-old Donald Tiberio Armstrong of Spencer; 36-year-old John Michael Sheehan of Salisbury; and 18-year-old Tyrese Jamale Stiller, also of Salisbury. They face multiple charges, including first-degree kidnapping and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

All three are being held in the Rowan County jail. It’s not known if they have attorneys.
