Jenny’s picks – August 31

1) A couple of years ago, I gave the practice of meditation a shot. I reaped lots of benefits from it, but then it got to the point where sitting quietly and clearing my mind took too much effort. But now I think it’s time to revisit this practice and, fortunately for me, the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., is offering a meditation program, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Information: 812-379-1266, mybcpl.org.

2) I was 14 years old, give or take, when “Jurassic Park” first came out. I remember seeing it on the big screen with my folks, and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen it since. I’ll have a chance, though, at Columbus Young Professional’s presentation Moonlight Movies Outdoor Film Series, 8 p.m. Sept. 9 at Mill Race Park, 50 Carl Miske Drive, Columbus. Cash bar, snacks/candy/popcorn available for purchase.
