FALL RIVER, Mass. — A man who fled Massachusetts after he learned he was under investigation for statutory rape has pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Prosecutors say 33-year-old Jaime Amaya pleaded guilty to multiple counts of indecent assault and statutory rape last week. Police say Amaya sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl for months in 2015 in the North Attleborough home in which they both lived.

When he learned he was under investigation he fled to Connecticut, where he was captured in October 2015.

Amaya had been living with the girl and her family for several years.
