NEW YORK — Authorities are investigating the death of a 15-year-old boy who fell off a Bronx apartment building fire escape.

Police say Leonardo Marmolejos was discovered in a courtyard on Briggs Avenue in Bedford Park just after 6 a.m. Thursday. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the teen is suspected of falling from a fifth floor fire escape outside his home.

The medical examiner is to determine the exact cause of death.
