NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans firefighter killed in crossfire outside a Tennessee nightclub will be buried Saturday.

Boyd Funeral Home says 37-year-old Gregory Howard Sr.’s funeral service will be Saturday morning at Franklin Ave. Baptist Church in New Orleans.

Howard was in Memphis, Tennessee, for a law enforcement and first responders’ basketball tournament. Police say he was leaving the Myst Lounge when at least two shooters fired toward a crowd early last Saturday. Authorities say a group had been kicked out after confronting the DJ with complaints about the music.

Shelby County sheriff’s Detective Sam Crews said Friday that the investigation continues but there haven’t been any arrests so far.

Howard was a nine-year veteran of the New Orleans Fire Department . He’s survived by his wife and two children.
