ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police are looking for an SUV believed to have been involved in a hit-and-run in which an 8-year-old boy was killed.

Police say vehicle described as a red Dodge Durango left the scene after it apparently struck the boy after he was struck by another vehicle and thrown as he ran across a street Thursday night.

Officer Daren DeAguero says the driver of the first vehicle to strike the boy remained at the scene and was determined to not be impaired.

DeAguero says police want to question the second driver and inspect the driver’s vehicle.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Louisiana and Trumbull.
