ELKINS, W.Va. — Federal authorities say a 38-year-old Ohio woman has been sentenced to more than nine years in prison for illegally having a gun and using it to obstruct a deputy marshal in 2015 in West Virginia.

According to prosecutors, Peggy Chaffin, of Portsmouth, pleaded guilty in February to two charges.

She was previously convicted of felony heroin possession and distribution in Kentucky in 2013, prohibiting her from having a gun.

Authorities say Chaffin brandished the .22-caliber rifle in Orlando, West Virginia, in November 2015.
