DAR chapter recognized for flag donation

Five members of the Joseph Hart chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, which serves all of Columbus and Bartholomew County, were present at a local high school recently for a special flag dedication.

The chapter was honored Aug. 22 at a volleyball match at Columbus North High School for donating money toward Memorial Gymnasium’s new mechanical American flag, which will be used at all home events during the playing of the national anthem.

Chapter members who were present were: Karen Loy, Kathryn Amos, Rhonda Bolner, Denise Williams and Rose Bell.

Daughters of the American Revolution, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a nonprofit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and securing America’s future through better education for children.
