NEWARK, N.J. — Authorities say three people were shot and wounded in Newark.

City police say the shooting occurred around 2:50 a.m. Saturday in the area of Fleming Avenue and Richards Street.

Officers who were in the area heard the shots and soon found two of the victims, who were taken to the hospital. The third victim was later driven to the hospital by an unidentified person.

All three victims were being treated for injuries that aren’t considered life-threatening and were listed in stable condition. But further information about them was not disclosed.

Authorities say the shooting apparently stemmed from an argument that occurred outside a bar that’s near the shooting scene. But they say the victims have not been cooperating with investigators.

Police say a loaded handgun was recovered at the scene.
