BENNINGTON, Vt. — The smell of garlic is wafting from the southern Vermont of Bennington this weekend during an annual festival celebrating the odoriferous bulb.

The 22nd annual Southern Vermont Garlic and Herb Festival takes place Saturday and Sunday.

The Bennington Banner reports (http://bit.ly/2xBc6pd ) the festival includes vendors, kids’ activities, food demonstrations, food trucks, a beer and wine garden, and performances by regional live bands.

The head of the chamber of commerce says its Bennington’s premier event.

Last year, a record 15,000 people attended.
