WOODFORD, Va. — A 9-year-old girl has died several days after being struck by a pickup truck.
Virginia State Police said in a statement Sunday that Dacoda Booth died Saturday from injuries she suffered Aug. 28.
Police said the girl was crossing Route 2 in Woodford, Virginia, shortly after 5 p.m. when the accident occurred. The driver of the 2010 Chevrolet immediately stopped and remained on the scene.
Police said the adult male driver was not injured. The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol was not a factor.
The girl lived in Woodford, which is about an hour north of Richmond. She had been taken to VCU Medical Center in Richmond.
