Franklin man accused of battery on a police officer

A Franklin man was arrested after being accused of battering police officers who were trying to subdue him.

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputy Dustin Newland was sent to the 4000 block of West County Road 950N at 9:07 p.m. Saturday about an unruly male, deputies said.

Newland and Deputy Adam Warner saw two males in a physical altercation when they arrived.

Seth Hodson, 22, Franklin, became aggressive with deputies, the sheriff’s department said. After deputies arrested Hodson, he was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital to be checked and then was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail, deputies said. The deputies were not injured in the incident.

Hodson is being held on preliminary charges of battery on a public safety officer, battery, disorderly conduct, public intoxication and resisting law enforcement, jail officials said.
