STARR, S.C. — A 73-year-old man has died in a hit-and-run crash in South Carolina.

The Highway Patrol told local media that the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. Monday on a road in Starr in Anderson County.

Deputy Coroner Charlie Boseman said George Eugene Williams was struck after his car broke down. Lance Cpl. Gary Miller said Williams was crossing the road when he was hit. Miller said the driver of the other vehicle did not stop.

Williams was flown to AnMed Health Medical Center where he died shortly after 2:15 p.m.
