MONTGOMERY, Ala. — An inmate has died after being stabbed at an Alabama prison.

The Alabama Department of Corrections says that 33-year-old Cedric Jerome Robinson died Friday after being stabbed multiple times by other inmates at Bibb County Correctional Facility in Brent.

A department spokesman said Robinson was attacked Friday morning inside one of the prison’s dorms. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. A second inmate was injured in the attack.

The department said surveillance video inside the dorm shows four inmates attacking Robinson. Prison officials said it was unclear what led to the attack.

Robinson was serving a six-year sentence for credit card fraud and criminal possession of a forged instrument.

The department has identified the four suspects.

The prison is on lockdown until the department completes its investigation.
