PHOENIX — Phoenix police are trying piece together the circumstances of an incident in which a man’s pickup was stolen and he was found critically injured while lying on a street.

Sgt. Mercedes Fortune says officers responded Saturday to a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian and that witnesses later told police that the truck was stolen. She says the man’s injuries are consistent with “being struck by a vehicle.”

Fortune says the man’s truck remains missing. The truck is described as a 2001 light gray Dodge Ram 2500 diesel with Arizona license plate BFZ2164.

The incident happened on North 48th and East Roosevelt streets.
